Data visualization is getting attention as a solution to finding new value in big data. On the other hand, big data visualization demands a lot of time and effort, requiring one to build systems that can handle vast amounts of data, and foundations for efficiently and speedily drawing beautiful graphics. In tackling this problem, Takram developed “Theodolite,” a general-purpose platform for visualizing big data associated with geographical information. Theodolite enables one to focus on tasks directly related to data visualization such as plotting maps and efficient data loading, without having to divert effort to implementing basic functionalities.
